Matters Arising

 

Last years minutes agreed as an accurate reflection.  Proposal KW: minutes to be circulated before end of year.  Carried.

Chairman’s Report

 

Many fixtures. Well done to members generally for organisation of the club and hard work that has been put in over a demanding season.

Captain’s Report

Honour to be captain of a great club. Very enjoyable season. Thanked KP for support and KW for arranging the fixtures and tour. Thanked NW and PJ for support and team selection.

Well done to PW, MW, KW,JW,GG,PJ, Nellie, Chris Williams, DP, JP for good performances

 

Congratulations to DJ and HS for the potential they have shown

Several memorable games, vs Wytham (home), Gt Hasely (away), Hospitals, Astons (away) and esp. vs Wooton (away).

 

For the future, need more application in batting, continue energy in fielding, sink more beers at Queens.

Treasurer’s Report

Full accounts not available due to computer fault.

Bank balance of £546.78 when money owed by some players is collected.

PW to collect owed money

This represents a loss of £107.48 over the season.  Tour loss over £500, need another 4 tourists to make it an acceptable loss.

6 a side made £100 but there were additional costs of kit and balls.

Collected match fees were higher over the season due to more games but the ground rent was higher.

£1464.18 held in deposit account. PW to transfer to a higher interest account.

Fixtures Secretary’s Report - summary

50 matches started – record. 10 lost to weather

Tour successful apart from boring Yeovil.

8 new opponents

Next season home matches played April to August.

KW queried whether there were any sides we should drop Proposal HS – drop Cricketers, this was caried 5-4

Should we have as many fixtures? KW Proposal of 55 games max was seconded by OW.

Tour: Proposal JW – we tour for 2 days, seconded OW.  Carried.

 Proposal KW – introduce Clubman of the Year award. Seconded PJ. Carried.

Vice Captain:  NW and PJ were elected as Vice Captains.

Statistics

KW to endeavour to split stats into midweek and weekend. Also to endeavour to arrange players to write match reports for the web-site.

Club Membership

Proposal NW – within the season, committee can make a decision on reduced membership fee. Seconded OW.  Carried unanimously.

Match fees

Proposal by KW. Match fees and subs to remain the same.  Saturday £5.00 (Adults), £3.00 (Juniors or Students), Mid-week £3.00 (Adults) and £2.00 (Juniors and Students).  Carried.

 

 

11.

Accreditation

KP raised this subject. It was agreed after discussion that there will be a committee meeting to discuss accreditation and insurance issues. KP to call meeting

Kit

We are OK for kit. We shall try to improve the quality of balls used.

Nets. Poor quality of facilities for nets last year was noted. JW to check alternative venues if the usual venue cannot improve.

Stumps.  Olly to purchase some spring back stumps for practise during the season.
